Welcome!!
Hi there! So here's a funny story! My name is Adam Black. I am a drummer, and wanted a cajon. Rather than buy one I decided to make one! After I had made one I had a few folk express an interest, and so before I knew what I was doing I had made 11, then 19, then 34, then 35, then 54!! True story. This took 4 months!
I had been a little innovative, and so had made some at 15.5 inches, and some at 12.5 inches, as well as the 'normal' 18.5 inches. I'd also made 2 'hand-luggage' cajones that were 9.5 inches deep, but otherwise the same as a 'normal' cajon.
Then one day I had a piece of front left over that was almost the same size as my lap-top. I decided to make what I think is the first cajon in the world to fit a standard laptop bag!! I took the clamps off the prototype, and put it on my knee, and was kind of blown away by how good it sounded!!!!
Therefore I decided to make 19 more!! A friend suggested that I had a good idea to start a business. A laptop cajon should be owned by every drummer! It can sit on a book-shelf, or in a drawer at work, or in the boot of your car! You can take it to a jamming session, or carry it backpacking!
Not only that, but every teenager who decides to get a guitar for their birthday should get a laptop cajon for their Christmas! Instant jamming sessions in your bedroom with a friend, without a bulky drum-kit.
I had recorded playing the full size cajon before, and found the base beats quite overpowering, but when miked up, the laptop cajon sounds perfect!
so have fun looking at my blogs as I upload some videos and photos of work that I have done. And buy a cajon!! In fact, buy several! Give them away to your friends! Get one for your partner.
